Kyuhyun’s ideal type

I used to like girls with beautiful legs, after that I liked girls with pretty foreheads, now I like girls that care only about me & that are filial~

Maknae Kyuhyun is a great student but a total failure at cooking!
How many people know that Kyuhyun is a Math genius? If it wasn’t for him revealing it in a show, (I) believe that not a lot of people would know that he got a big prize in the Math Olympiad in Korea! According to reports he’s currently studying ‘Post Modern Music’ in university, and it was his diligence before debut that got him into this course! Even though Kyuhyun has high academic qualifications, but he cannot enter the kitchen, simply because he has no cooking skills! Like during the first time when he moved into the dorm, the members requested for him to cook noodles for them. In the end, he added too much water, and ended up being called “Han River noodles” by the members. There was another time when he wanted to eat sausage, so he asked Ryeowook, who’s good at cooking, for some tips. Ryeowook told him to add some oil to grill, but he thought it was sesame oil… From then on, the members forbade Kyuhyun to cook! Even so, he is still the magnae everyone loves dearly! Although they would tease him sometimes, but they also “revere” him a little at times, becase of his sharp tongue, not only that but his few words are all direct & straight to the point! Yeah! Actually Kyuhyun doesn’t remain silent to act cool on purpose, he’s just clear that he’s the maknae, he should let his hyungs speak. But if he has the chance, he wants to say a few words of gratitude when receiving awards too, let us anticipate!

Kyuhyun’s energy source comes from travelling!
Kyuhyun has a sister, and it can be said that the both of them are geniuses in the music world，and also have very high artistic attainments. Kyuhyun and his sister share a close relationship, his sister even uses addresses him as “son”! When his older sister has some problems, Kyuhyun would definitely be her number 1 listening ear, the best listener! When his sister is upset, he would joke around to make his sister smile, or send an sms to care about her. This makes his sister very grateful, thankful ro have this “son” (brother) to be by her side! Kyuhyun doesn’t need anyone to worry about him and is very independent. Everytime he travels to a another country, he would take some pictures and share it with the fans. He also went to Japan alone, and without much planning, carrying his luggage he went travelling unworriedly! Because cab fares in Japan is very expensive, Kyuhyun walked, and even when he did get lost, he would acknowledge it, but continue to sightsee! When he sees a scene he likes, he would ask a passer-by to help him take a photo. Of course, he would meet a few Korean tourists halfway, and they would be saying in low voices, “He looks like SJ’s Kyuhyun!” Afterwhich Kyuhyun would say, “Nice to meet you” and waved goodbye to them, making them shocked!

I was watching HYD when I felt rashes on my nape; I thought they were “bungang araw”. After a while, I found spots on my forearms… I looked down to my legs, there were more. I had a lot on my cheeks too but they weren’t red. I drank an antihistamine and dozed off.

March 27
(AM) It was Mom’s scheduled check-up, a follow-up on her CT scan (liver). While we were waiting for our turn, she took some papers out and read each page carefully. The results on the last page shocked her. She read lesion, 9cm, and metastasis* She became so worried that she started to weep. I held back my tears. I wanted to believe that what she read to me were lies. The secretary called her in. I decided to stay outside; I was too scared to hear the truth.

It took a while before she came out and when she did, I saw her crying. My heart pounded, my tears flowed.  She told me she needs to undergo RFA (Radiofrequency ablation) and chemotherapy immediately after for the tumor to be removed.

(PM) We went to her Aunt’s place and called our Mama to tell her about Mom’s condition. We started crying all over again. Her aunt suggested that we visit this famous doctor named Ngelangel, for a second opinion. She wanted first to know what that mass is, how it came about – if it was connected to her previous breast CA or if it grew on its own. She suggested undergoing surgery for the removal since she thinks RFA can only remove masses up to 4cm in size only, and that maybe the doctors are only pushing it since it’s a new procedure.

*She has a degree in Nursing so she pretty knows what other scientific terms mean

March 28
(PM) Mom’s crying from time to time.I felt dizzy, I felt a bit sick.

March 29
(AM) I couldn’t focus on my work. A lot of things are bothering me, especially Mom’s condition. By noon time, Marketing Manager came in asking to do a layout needed asap. At this state, I thought, it’s impossible.

(PM) I left by 2:30PM where, before that, she asked for the layout already. Because I thought I had too much, I broke into tears. That’s the time when she let me go.

Pres. Arroyo’s doctor convinced my Mom to push through with the RFA to remove the tumor.

I spent 4 hours waiting for my name to be called. Okay, so I got in, second to the last. My chief complaint was my allergic rhinitis plus these red spots. She was shocked to see how many items I checked on the list of past sickness: asthma/allergic rhinitis, drug allergy, food allergy, etc. Anyway, the red spots are flu rashes. My immune system is currently at its lowest that’s why even these spots came out. Next was to check if I had sinusitis. She inserted 4 cotton buds (with long sticks), 2 per nostril without warning! OUCH!!! >.< two to three minutes after she took them out, this long, thin metal was next. It didn’t hurt as much as the first procedure. The third was somewhat like pumping air inside my nose repetitively. But the end result was good, I don’t have sinusitis.

So, I’m asked to watch out for the food I eat – no processed food, etc. Not allowed to go swimming. I should take an allergy test when I’m feeling better. She gave me new medications, hoping these would work. She also requested me to undergo various lab tests to check on my blood, my immune and endocrine system since I’m taking antihistamine almost every day, and my thyroid gland. Procedure? Blood extraction. Feeling ko sa second extraction mag-faint na ako… O_O

March 30
Mom’s biopsy scheduled on Monday. i pray that it would be benign.

My dear friends, if it isn’t too much to ask… Please include my Mom, Marie Catherine in your prayers. I’d be forever grateful to you.

“Hindi, mas delikado sa fx kasi sarado pa yun! At least sa jeep makaka-talon ka pa palabas!”

Whether you take a jeep or an fx on your way home beyond 11 or 12 MN, you can’t always say that one’s safer than the other. You should always be on-guard and aware of the people you’re aboard the vehicle with, because you can’t be too sure of your safety. There will probably be no one else to save you but yourself when something happens.

A friend of mine took a jeep home instead of an fx last Wednesday. It was, past 2 in the morning or so, in Aurora. He was in front, beside the driver. He heard screams from behind him, women going hysterical. He glanced at the mirror and saw 3 men with weapons – you already know what’s happening. Instantly he jumped off the jeep and ran away, but one of the hold-uppers went out and chased him – with a knife wrapped in a good morning towel.

He ran for his life. He tried to stop other jeeps so he could ride and leave the man behind, but not one jeep stopped. The man, due to his age, wasn’t able to catch up. He reached an intersection. Luckily a jeep was there. He jumped onto it and yelled that the man chasing him was a hold-upper. The driver stepped on it and they went further away from the man. He was lucky he wasn’t hurt. He had thoughts like, “What if the man had a gun instead?” “He would have pulled the trigger.” “I could be dead now.”

It’s not that I’m telling you NOT to ride the jeep nor the fx. I just want my readers to be extra cautious. We’ve heard/read about other traumatic stories shared by people who, unfortunately encountered experiences which they never expected to happen to them.

You do not want it to happen to you, too right? What to do? Accidents do happen. This is just timing. One thing you wouldn’t ever have knowledge of. There won’t be any warnings. Just ALWAYS be extra careful and on-guard especially when you’re alone, going home late and commuting.

People say, that if you start your day the proper way, it would carry on until you slip on to your pajamas and call it a day.  

As February was nearing its end, I decided to begin March appropriately so as to make up from my slip-ups the previous month. March’s first day came and… I let myself down so soon.

This was how my Monday, Mary 1^st came about.

I barely had enough sleep the night before.

I came in a minute late for work. I know I’m dead if I don’t make it at the MRT station earlier than 7:46am. I’m already furious when the interval between trains screws up. But that’s just for the MRT. Wait ‘til you reach the LRT where there’s a “skipping train”. ~_~

My patience was short. I tried my best to LISTEN and ENJOY other people’s company but everything was too much to handle. No longer able to contain it, I became silent, formed a big bubble, and went inside it. Smiling was such a chore.

We had no internet connection the whole day at the office.  No plurk, no Skip Beat (nailed at Chapter 54. Bummer.)

I felt a little guilty because…  Someone asked this person to sell some CARTOONS. Yes, MEN WATCH THESE TOONS. Since this person was living in the same City as I am, I just had the urge to say that if he sells those TOONS to people who live in our area, the number of “cartoon-addicts” would increase. I thought it wouldn’t be safe to go around the city anymore, LOL. So, he left these DVDs at the office. I knew he was very, very embarrassed. He was my Boss.

7 o’clock came and I was eager to go home early for the first time! I started to fix my stuff when this politics-related news on the radio became the reason why the bookkeeper started to explain why such thing happened. I stood up and left my chair thinking that THIS would shut her up. Unlucky as I was the whole day, no, it didn’t stop her. She kept on talking even if I was already at the door!  From Jamby Madrigal to Manny Villar’s C5 issue; from Cojuangco-Aquino’s lifestyle to Ping Lacson’s good deeds… I just had to stop her! O_o clock out: 7:16 PM GMT

That was it. It continued… the whole bad luck thing until today, March 2^nd…

11 minutes late! Oh and we just had net connection a while ago.

So tell me, it’s really true no? What the people say…. Hahahaha! Darn!  What should I do now? Am I cursed for the whole month? )

Everybody (i.e., ELFs from around the globe) has been talking about the big event: Super Junior’s 2nd Asia Tour. It started in Korea last July; continued in countries such as China, Thailand and will have its final stop in Taiwan on February.

Being a Super Junior fan for almost two years, I have had dreams and hoped to see them in person even if it would only happen once. My liking started with Cho Kyu Hyun, the youngest of the group. Since, that time, Taiwan’s F4 Vic Zhou was popular in the Philippines; I saw similarities between the two guys, physically speaking. Fandom and thesis before was like oil and water – really, no matter how hard I tried to combine and “enjoy” them together, I couldn’t. School won. Months after, February 2008, I went online and started on with my Kyuhyun/Super Junior fandom on my own.

Super Junior boomed to the scene after their release of Sorry Sorry – who would have expected a bunch of young, verrrrry good-looking (but a bit slender) guys to transform into gorgeous, sexy hot men? My former small hopes instantly became serious desires to see them LIVE! Thus it was decided last October that my friends and I watch the Super Show 2 live in Thailand, November 28th! My friend went thru a lot just to get us tickets to the show – contacting Thai ELFs and fellow Filipino ELFs… Luckily both connections helped us fulfill our greatest dream!

Weeks before the event, I received a phone call from one of my friends that the Thai ELF was only able to get us 800baht tickets – I felt really down… my friends could no longer hold their laughter — it was just a prank and surprisingly, we got the 4,500baht-worth seats!!!

On the night of our flight, I wasn’t sure as to what I was excited for: my first trip to Thailand or seeing Super Junior live? All I had in mind was that there was something great in store for me in that country!

FASTFORWARD

Before the concert we:

• Had a breakfast buffet
• Converted money to Baht
• Met fellow Filipino ELF for our SS2 tickets
• Took the train to Mochit, cab to the Impact Arena
• Looked around and STRUGGLED to find where the official concert goods were sold – nobody could understand English! We were able to speak to Japanese ELFs instead, haha! Thank God for JE fandom. It felt like Lee Hyuk Jae finding his way in France!
• Gave the McDonald’s crew a major nosebleed in taking our order
• Ate our 10-pc Nuggets meal with large fries and coke on our feet, yes, standing.
• Bought OFFICIAL (and unofficial) CON GOODS! Shirts, flags, light sticks, bag, etc.
• Stayed at SB (where there were fan-girl Moms in shirts that say “I ♥ SJ”, later changed into the official shirts we bought
• Took pictures with Yamaha Fino SJ cardboards
• Stood in line….
• Entered through GATE 13! Destiny!

We never knew how lucky we were until we arrived at the arena… We never imagined how close we could get.

• Took our seats and waited patiently for the show to start. The venue was filling up until you could already see the very beautiful sapphire blue sea.

SOME CONCERT HIGHLIGHTS (because everybody knows about the previous concert already)

• Opening was a blast, everyone was screaming. ELFs were so focused on the big screen that we were all surprised by SJ’s entrance!
• Ryeowook came out from behind our seats – inches away! Thank God we were near the aisle. He had a thick make-up on. The crowd roared – SJ members came out from everywhere!!!
• Shindong trying to open Kyuhyun’s pants!
• Kyuhyun’s intro was extremely smexy; Hyukjae wiped his neck and chest with a towel and threw it to fans; Leeteuk humiliated himself on the floor. )
• Fan chants “(SJ member’s name) Saranhaeyo (SJ member’s name)” + LT and EH chanting for themselves
• Don’t Don – still the hottest + HanChul action
• Donghae’s Solo w/ Eunhyuk
• Eunhyuk’s veins on big screen
• Kyuhyun’s English in Puff the Magic Dragon + Heechul as Puff – funniest!
• SJ-M’s Super Girl was awesome, Henry’s really working the shades!
• Gee – Shindong took off Siwon’s white top – Siwon wore a smaller white shirt after
• Kyuhyun took a fan’s cellphone and took a picture of himself
• Siwon asked if one fan and my friend were alright. They almost fell off the bleechers
• Hyuk came up the stairs ALMOST up to where we were seated, but… you know why he was dragged back down to the stage. Kyuhyun was on the other side, to my left, reached the top of the stairs, lucky fans *cries*
• Hyuk came back firing his water gun at us! We got wet
• SJ singing Marry U meters away from you
• Kyuhyun threw a fake flower which he must’ve gotten on the floor from a fan… and threw it up to where we were… only I didn’t get to catch it… the 4th girl to my left did. TT___TT
• Yesung was the last to leave the stage.

In as much as we wanted to head to where the boys are staying thru the night, we didn’t push through since traffic was already heavy outside and it was already late. Seeing them was unbelievable. It felt surreal. It was the best night of my life (as a fan-girl, as an ELF) so far. Everything we worked hard for all paid off. Super Show 2 was an early Christmas gift for us (and an early birthday gift, for my BFF).

The next day all that was left for us to do was to shop and buy stuff for our relatives back home in the Philippines. We bought fan-made goodies like cellphone charms, mousepads, etc. and 12 Plus goodies too!

Before we took our flight back home, we had the same flight (time) with SJ-M. For the remaining members, theirs were earlier than ours. We had everything ready for autograph signing but… we didn’t get to see them for the very last time. But we were still glad the weekend happened.

Until then… Super Junior, Saranghae!
Will be waiting for Super Show 3!!!
